1. Celebs Raise over $44 Million for Hurricane Relief

Stars including Drake, Nicki Minaj, Justin Bieber and many more came together to particiapte in the Hand In Hand telethon. The telethon featured performances and special messages from celebs, who also operated the phones and took donations. Proceeds from Hand In Hand will go toward those affected by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma. 

 

2. Common is the FIRST rapper to receive an Emmy, Oscar AND Grammy!

Common took home an Emmy for his song "Letter to the Free" from the Ava DuVernay directed documentart 13th. This makes Common the first rapper to have won an Emmy, Oscar and a Grammy! All he needs is a Tony award to reach EGOT!

3. Donald Glover at the Emmys

Donald Glover, musically known as Childish Gambino, also won big at the Emmys. Glover took home two awards: one for Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series and one for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series. It was also a night of firsts for Donald. Not only were these his first Emmy's but he's the first black director to win in the Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series category, as well as the first person of color to win Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series in 32 years!

4. Jhene Aiko Teases New Album and Mini Movie

It's been quite some time since Jhene Aiko's 2014 album Souled Out. Fans have long awaited a follow up album and it looks like one may be coming soon. Jhene released a teaser for what looks to be a mini movie as well as a few cryptic tweets that hint toward the release of a project. Aiko tweeted,"i been trippin since i lost u. in hopes to find u again, i made a M.A.P" followed by "M is for Movie". Maybe A is for Album?
